Kim Sutton: Welcome back to another episode of Positive Productivity. I’m so happy to have you here. In the last episode that I did, solo Episode 335, which was Morning Hack #1, Beat The Coffee.

I mentioned that I would come back in a future episode and talk about another morning hack that I have with my children to get them dressed and ready for the day quickly. If you listen to that episode, you may have been surprised to hear that on the days when we use the beat the coffee game, I can get them dressed and fed in just under 10 minutes, which beats the coffeemaker while it’s making the coffee every single time. But I have to share the hack that makes that possible. And that hack is bagging clothes. Now in full disclosure, laundry is one of my least favorite household chores. And rather than folding up all of my littles clothes, I actually just purchased three big Rubbermaid bins, one for each of the littles, and I’ll sort the clothes and then throw them into their bin. And then when it’s time to grab their clothes out, I will get it out of there. But what I found to be even better is while I’m sorting the clothes, I will make piles for each day of the week, and then put them in a grocery bag with a label of the day that those clothes are for.

So for each of the littles, I’ll lay out their outfits, I’ll have their underwear and their socks, I may even put the hair accessories for the girls if I can find them. But when that day comes, I don’t have to be taking through their bands. I don’t have to be going through laundry piles because the clothes are already ready for them. I wish I thought to do this for myself as well, but I haven’t gotten there yet. Maybe I’ll start that this weekend when I’m going through laundry. But as far as the littles are concerned, there’s no question about what they’re wearing on any given day, it’s already been bagged. The biggest time saver out of this method outside of searching through their bins or their drawers for clothes, is the fact that I’m no longer arguing with the girls about what they’re wearing on any given day. My girls are little divas, and they will change their mind about eight times even at three and four years old about what they want to wear. But they know that mom has already laid out bags for each day of the week, and I’m not going to have this argument every single morning. What’s in the bag is what you’re wearing today. And that’s it.

I would love to hear what morning hacks you have working in your house, and how you get your kids up fed dressed and out the door in a reasonable time period. So please visit the website at thekimsutton.com/pp337, and let me know what hacks you have in place. Now, with all this said, go forth and make it a positive and productive day.
